Winnipeg Police On October 27/07 came to my door 8 of them all with guns pointed at my head, without warrant or charges, openly and admittedly at the behest of the United States and the Minneapolis police, holding me 12 hours no food no water while threatening my extradition to the United States. Some of the documents and materials I have used to create this website were sent to the United States once illegally stolen from my apartment, which they raided for almost 20 minutes on this day. More Collusion Exposed by our lawyer : These same police refuse to give our lawyer a copy of the police notes because they are trying to hide what they have done. However this will be to no avail in that on Dec 21/07 our lawyer already saw and had read to him by another Winnipeg Police officer, reading directly from the file notes, that materials and possessions stolen from my apartment by these now-criminally-charged-police officers, was sent to Minneapolis in the United States, from my Winnipeg home here in Canada. When our lawyer came back to get a copy of the file, in an unorthodox move (this is rarely done) the police refused to let our lawyer view the file and cited the freedom of information act, insisting he fill out a request, which carried with it a 30 days holding period. At the end of the 30 day holding period the police finally replied that they were refusing him access to the police notes file regardless!!

A report released by the Manitoba Human Rights Commission accuses the Winnipeg police of being racist and abusive, and says there is profound distrust of police among the city's black and aboriginal communities.
Jerry Woods, chairman of the Human Rights Commission, called the allegations in the report "very disturbing." They range from accounts of starlight tours, where people say they were driven to the city's edge and forced to walk home barefoot, to tales of rape and brutality. [...]
In one of the accounts, an aboriginal woman said she was put in a police car and driven outside the city, where the officers stopped and a second police car pulled up.
"They raped me, took turns," the woman said. "They were cruel and disgusting and when they were finished they left me there. I had to find my way back. I've never told this to anyone, but I could never trust a police officer."
Another woman told of being taken with a friend outside the city, where they were both raped and forced to walk home without their jackets.
A major theme of the report is the abusive treatment of aboriginal people by police.
One man described being driven to the perimeter and being left to walk home with no shoes. "I have no one to complain to. Aboriginal people don't matter," he said.
Another said the police broke his fingers, fractured his face and blinded him. "I got tasered and the police were laughing the whole time," he said. "I feel like aboriginals have no rights and are treated like nothing."

Manitoba’s Native Justice Inquiry
They saw only nine native officers on Winnipeg's police force of 1,096. They saw Indian and Metis inmates occupying 56 per cent of the prison cells in a province where natives account for six per cent of the population. And they saw a justice system that allowed Osborne's murder to go unpunished for almost two decades, but absolved Constable Cross within 36 hours. And this time they demanded a public investigation. In September 1988, six months after the shooting death of Harper, the provincial government passed a peace pipe and set up the native justice inquiry to respond to these accusations. The two-judge commission was to determine whether the police, courts and jails discriminate against Manitoba's 91,000 natives and Metis. They reviewed court and prison procedures, probation and reintegration programs, native knowledge of judicial proceedings and employment opportunities in this system.The inquiry travelled Manitoba, visiting 43 communities and 15 correctional facilities. It listened to the testimony of more than 1,000 people at 48 public hearings, two of which probed the Harper and Osborne deaths and subsequent investigations. It became one ofthe most disturbing and sensational inquiries in the province's history.
The province's two major dailies, the Winnipeg Free Press and The Winnipeg Sun, would report the inquiry as an investigation of isolated victims-a teenager and a native leader-and ignore the other 46 hearings into the treatment of natives by Manitoba's police, prison guards, judges and lawyers. "The Aboriginal Justice Inquiry has spent probably 10 or 20 per cent of its time on Harper and Osborne and 80 per cent of its time on the systemic problems of native justice in Manitoba," said Jack London, lawyer and professor of law at the University of Manitoba."So that's where you get the skewed version of press reporting.The scab of the past would be ripped loose to expose the raw burn of racism.
